Nice, Handsome EDC Knife and a GREAT Value

Pros: The green micarta is very nice, and the silver satin finish on the blade looks great against that. Drop point blade shape is versatile and looks great. Both the blade and handle have a nice shape to them. It's surprisingly light for a knife that size. Deep carry clip is excellent. Feels great in the hand. Big enough blade for most EDC purposes and comes out of the box razor sharp. The blade steel - 154CM - is fine for most EDC purposes. But the best pro is the value. You really get a lot for a very reasonable price, especially with the micarta handle. Kizer is doing a great job with the pricing on its knives. More about this in the conclusion below.

Minor Cons: The detente is a bit too strong. It's very difficult to open with the tip of your thumb on the thumb screw. You have to use the middle of the thumb to exert more pressure on it. That said, it has broken in a bit after I've had one for 8 months; still too strong though. The only other issue I have with it is that is has a liner lock. I much prefer other locking mechanisms where you don't have to move your fingers so they aren't in the way when it closes (e.g., crossbar, compression, etc.). But it does close easily and you get used to it. The reason it's still 5 starts despite these two minor issues is the price. Given how it's priced, I don't mind the liner lock and mid-grade steel. If the detente was looser it would be an almost perfect knife for the price.

Conclusion: Overall, if you can live with the strong detente, and don't mind the liner lock, this is an EXCELLENT EDC knife and a steal of a value for the price. It's very comparable to The James Brand's "The Carter," but that knife is twice the price (it's VG-10 steel, but does have a crossbar/axis type lock). It was even more of a steal when it was on sale, so I bought several to give as gifts. Highly recommend this knife.
